Family photoshoots along the coast are beautiful and perfect for a family who wants beautiful light, a calm backdrop, stunning and natural and doesn’t mind a bit of sand between their toes! It’s also perfect to let the kids roam and run around (whilst getting some candid shots) and for everyone to enjoy the fresh air!
I’ve been photographing families down at Seacliff Beach now since 2007, really since I moved down to the area with my own family. There are various spots along the beach that I favour and they do change with the seasons, tide and weather (on a daily basis!). What I love most about capturing families down there is that the lighting is the best, especially at golden hour (typically an hour to an hour and a half before sunset), the softness of the reeds, sand and sky make for truly beautiful images. As they say, there is something about the sea air – it just makes me happy! And I swear all the families that I photograph down there also feel it. It’s just beautiful!
